Nahual Las Lajas lies just 30 metres from the beautiful beach and had excellent Trip Advisor ratings. It was a favourite with young, nature-loving travellers, eager to leave as few footprints behind as possible. 4 rooms host 12 beds and the sanitary installations are simple but adequate. There is a large space over the restaurant / kitchen where the owner can stay. The small eco-hostel has unfortunately been run down and needs some tender loving care to bring it back up to speed. The price reflects the value of the land and the buildings have been written off, but can be brought back to their former simple hostel standard with some handyman abilities and without too much investment. It is a great opportunity for a young couple to start their career. The beach is the best one on the Pacific side of Panama and there are beautiful waves on the 10 km beach that are especially good for beginner surfers, but there are fun waves for most other levels too.
