Location
The Valley has one main highway, called Avenida Central or Central Street, which runs East-West through the town. An important point is the public Sunday market, which is visited by Panamanians living in the region. El Valle has a small museum, as well as a small zoo and serpentarium, and a garden displaying 100 species of local orchids.
The town is a popular weekend outing for Panama City residents. Popular activities in the area include camping in established areas, hiking, and horseback riding.
The town is 27 kilometers from the Inter-American Highway. Buses to Panama City are frequent and take approximately 2 hours.
Throughout the year the average high temperature is 28 degrees Celsius, and the average minimum night is 20 degrees, with little variation between summer and winter. The dry season starts in mid-December and lasts until the end of April. In that season the weather is sunny and very windy.
